Quick review of my first use with the Hennessy Hammock while canoeing & camping in the Floodwood Loop area of the Adirondaks this past Labor Day weekend. This video was uploaded from an Android phone.
All the tips you need to know about the use of the hammock, no cutting involved. Tarp in rain, tarp in sun, use of snake skins for cooking and a drip stop, hanging your shoes, extra paracord ridge-line, how to use it as a chair, how to use it as a hammock without getting in, putting it away. The hammock used is the HH Explorer Deluxe A-Sym, bought from www.armynnavy.com it has been thoroughly used on expeditions in Borneo, Sumatra and Thailand.
easy solution to this as demonstrated here! it does take 45mins which isnt particularly fast, but not a problem when you are camping and playing with the fire anyway!
I’m going to be going camping with a bunch of friends soon and I need a good portable hammock, ’cause tent challenged. The hike to our camp site will be from 2-4 hours long, and its going to be up hill. The hammock needs to be lightweight and pretty cheap (like under 0) Thank you!
Now available at www.helsdonoutdoors.com. The Chrysalis is a remarkable hammock, sleeping in a true horizontal position is not only possible, but truly comfortable with the Chrysalis’s patented design. Ideal for pitching in the forest or above uneven ground, it’s unbelievably roomy inside with ample space for gear storage.
Ready to get away from it all? With the 3-season use oGo TENT 7 and oGoTENT 4 you can get away with the whole or a small group. The unique design featuring vertical walls gives you plenty of room to relax under the stars. And with the 60-second setup, you’ll have more time to enjoy the great outdoors.
Sorry for the repeat… But I’d really like some more input. Thanks
I’m having my 14th birthday party at my cabin in the woods in Connecticut. I live in New York, and my parents would drive all of the kids, about 12 people, 6 boys and 6 girls, to the house. All of the teens invited are 13/14. Basically, they are all really smart and are pretty nerdy… And yes, i know that because they are smart doesn’t mean that they are any different…. But they’re a great group of kids and are VERY well behaved. They would be doing outdoor activities such as swimming, going on their jet ski, hiking, playing man hunt and other games. When it is time for bed, the boys will sleep in a tent on one side of the house, and the girls will sleep in a tent on the other side. My parents will be there the whole time. The kids are a great group, really smart, and are all close friends. Would you let your son or daughter attend this party? There will be PLENTY of supervision. And the only reason it’s a sleepover is because the house is so far away from where the kids all live…. Yes, there will be an adult up all night. The cabin has a porch with a hammock on it, and that is where the adult will stay. The tents will be on either side of the porch, and the adult will be able to see anything that goes on. But honestly, is there ever that much sleeping going on at sleepovers? All of the kids will probably be sitting around the fire talking or playing cards on the porch for most of the night anyway… lol
